Carolina Women’s Choral Showcase: Making Music, Making a Difference
The UNC Women’s Glee Club is pleased to host this annual concert featuring music written for women, with an emphasis on music written in our time. The Carolina Women’s Choral Showcase welcomes area high school women’s ensembles to UNC where they perform and hear music written specifically for women’s choirs. We conclude the program with a combined piece. It is definitely a thrill to be a part of a massed choir of 150 women’s voices!

We also run a food drive as a corollary project for Choral Showcase. Donations of non-perishable food items are collected at the concert, transported to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina in Durham, and from there distributed to citizens of six counties - Chatham, Durham, Granville, Orange, Person and Vance. At last year’s concert we collected 357lbs. of food and $101.00 in donations, combined this is enough for 729 meals!
